CR Lacrosse Season Overview
Spring Season
- Registration opens by November 1st and remains open until March 1st
- Winter Training / Evaluations begin in mid-February (see Winter Training below)
- Outdoor practice begins in March and season ends in early June
- Practices are held at Newtown Elementary, Veterans Park, or Staples Field in Newtown
- Teams practice 2 days per week with practice schedules based on field and coach availability
- Games begin mid-March with home games played at Newtown Elementary School on Saturdays or Sundays; Girls play on Saturdays and Boys play on Saturdays or Sundays depending on grade level
- Girls season typically ends weekend before Memorial Day Weekend
- Boys season typically ends first weekend in June
- Team specific information will be issued when available
Winter Indoor Training / Evaluations
- Training/Evaluations begin in February and run through March with sessions occurring one day per week
- Dates and times slots for 1-hour weekly training will be issued to all coaches and team members
- Sessions are used to evaluate players for top team in each age group (Grades 3-8)
- Great opportunity for skill development and team building strategies
- Attendance is highly encouraged
- Cost is included in Spring Registration Fees
Fall Ball Program
- Registration opens by August 1st
- Weekly sessions are held at Newtown Elementary School beginning the first weekend after school starts and ends about mid-October
- 6 sessions of skill and Lax IQ development through drills and scrimmage play
- This is an absolute must for new players who want to get a head start on skill development and game sense before the upcoming spring season
